M. P. Birla Group
Founded in 1919, the M. P. Birla Group is one of the large industrial houses in India. The company is one of the leaders in the cement industry, with strong presence in northern, central and eastern India. The cable industry of the group has joint ventures with global giant Furukawa. A pioneer in the chemical industry the group is one of the largest manufacturer of guar gum. The group has set up various philanthropic trusts and societies which run a number of schools, hospitals, and other philanthropic institutions across the country such as Bombay Hospital, Belle Vue Clinic, South Point School, M. P. Birla Planetarium and Priyamvada Birla Aravind Eye Hospital amongst others.
